Tunes for Tykes

I’ve seen Brian perform a half dozen times, and every time, it brings me back to the first time I saw him. It was right when we moved here, before we had a kid. My wife and I were sitting on a bench at McCarren. Nearby, a circle of families had gathered around Brian, who was performing with puppets for the kids. Everyone was completely captivated.

His show is timeless, filled with classic kids’ songs and lullabies. There’s something really wholesome about it. And now, when I see him while holding my son, I think, this is my life now. And I kind of love it.
